Here is a feature on the Berlin label Boysnoize, who have been consistently putting out great tracks.

Check out SCNTST from Munich, and his upcoming Premelodic Structures (BNR091), due Oct. 29. "Phisyq" is an absolutely monster track, combining grainy analog synth sounds with addictive rhythmic underlay. The builds towards drops are great, reminiscent of Modeselektor at times, gradually edging up pitch, almost more of a feeling of temperature than tonality or tension. I am really excited for this release. "Not Sure" is another standout track, with creepy, nostalgic spoken word at the beginning leading to a great drop, again some great great synths here. This is going to be one of the biggest releases, really into this label lately.

Essential tracks: "Not Sure" and "Phisyq", from SCNTST's upcoming Premelodic Structures on Boysnoize.

BS1 is releasing a new EP Rust, also on Boysnoize, to follow up their debut "BE AS ONE". Again, loving the aesthetic here. The sounds here are much more metallic, somewhat harsher, with more menacing vibes. "Gold Rush" is one of my favourite tracks of the week, with huge builds and a huge, driving bassline; very subtle disco influences hiding in the background. Everything about this is great. Highly anticipated.

Essential track: "Gold Rush" from BS1's Rust EP (Oct. 15th digital only)

Lastly, here is Boys Noize (Alex Ridha) and his new album Out of the Black on Boysnoize Records. "XTC" is a great track here, with a tense linear build up to a great bassline. Boys Noize is brighter/dancier than my usual aesthetic, but there are some definite influences from older generations of house and acid here. Check out the ecstatic "Conchord feat. Siriusmo", with huge constellations of sounds edging ever-so-slightly towards a disco vibe at times. "Reality" is another standout here, with a slightly creepy build-up to menacing analogue synth sounds.

Essential tracks: "XTC", "Conchord feat. Siriusmo", "Reality"; from Boys Noize Out of the Black.
